⚙️ Retry & Fault Tolerance Parameters

🛑 Enterprise Dead Letter Queue & Retry Architecture

1. Poison Pill Isolation

A malformed payload or unresolvable business state that will never succeed must not block other events. After exhaustion of retry attempts, it is quarantined into the DLQ.

2. Full Jitter vs Herd Waves

Synchronized exponential retries create waves of concurrent traffic that repeatedly hammer recovering systems. Full jitter randomizes delays between 0 and the exponential cap.

3. Audit Metadata Enrichment

When diverting events to the DLQ, enrich the CloudEvent header with failure timestamp, origin stack trace, error code, and retry count for fast root-cause analysis.
